Christie Anderson, RMT
I graduated from MH Vicars School of Massage’s 2200-hour program with honours, and I am now offering a variety of massages/modalities in my home. My rates are an average of 20% lower than what nearly every clinic or spa will charge. Massage therapy is becoming inaccessible to many people as the hourly rate creeps upward of $100 and I would like to offer more affordable rates to my clients.
I have a beautiful clinic room set up in my home, with luxurious linens, an electric fireplace, salt lamps, and much more to create an ambiance of total relaxation. Parking is available in my extra-wide driveway, and my private treatment room is right off the main entrance.
**Please note that I do Mobile Massage (in your home), but this service is on hold until mid-September. I run several evening farmers’ markets in the summer, and I do not have the extra time to do call-out massage from May - September.
My education prepared me for the diversity of clients requiring everything from relaxation massage to treatment of soft tissue-related injuries. I also have my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, and I am deeply interested in the movement of the human body. I am passionate about helping people and believe that massage is an important part of maintaining good health. I use a variety of massage techniques & modalities to help individuals improve mobility and reduce pain, and I often provides clients with helpful tips for self-care based on principles of yoga. Types of massage offered include:
-Hot Stone Massage (with no extra fee)
On my off-time, I enjoy theater (especially the Fringe!), travel, spending time in nature, walking at the Terwillegar Dog Park, and spending time with my family. I am also the Market Manager of the Southwest Edmonton Farmers’ Market (in Terwillegar), and I sit on the provincial Alberta Farmers’ Market Association board. Supporting local is very important to me, as is creating strong community ties.
